If you’re like me, you probably have an overwhelming number of arXiv papers in your backlog to get through. I had a thought… wouldn’t it be great to find good sources that summarize them, and offer expert perspective?

Enter cytation.app – a place to find YouTube videos that cite the arXiv paper that you’re interested in. Over time, I hope to:

  1. Add auto-generated summaries, particularly for papers that don’t have videos to go with them.

  2. Allow users to create alerts (a la Google Alerts) to send you E-mails for new cytations, which I’ve found in my testing could be particularly valuable for new, breaking arXiv papers.

  3. Find references to podcasts in addition to YouTube.

  4. Offer some data such as trends and popular papers for people to track.

  5. A lot more! The only limit is time as it remains a small side project. Do send in requests via Twitter or in the Substack Chat.

If you’re interested in tracking the progress, subscribe below. And if you find cytation useful (or think it will be in the future), please do pledge how much you’d be willing to spend to support it’s development and server-costs.

Cheers!
